Yeah, it is horrible how these things happen. It seems to be natures way of keeping us in check. At least we know that our local fire services are doing their part. They're over there working hard to save lives!

It is good to know Britain is doing its bit to help out. I just wish there was more we could do. The estimates made by the Red Cross for injuries etc were way off so they might not have enough aid, food, or supplies. I hope the situation is got on top of soon. The biggest killer will end up being disease and lack of clean water!

I think they've now managed to raise a lot of money for Hatti. Every time I flick over to the music channel, it's showing donate for hatti songs from america. But what do they do with the money? In america, the donations are going to american oxfam. Is that definitely going to be used just for Hatti?

Who knows with all these charities. Unless you actually work for them and physically see what the money is being used to pay for, I guess we can never be sure. I'm not sure what kind of supervision goes on for charities. They must be quite well regulated otherwise everyone would be setting them up just to make money for themselves!

I was watching a bit about this on the news this morning. It's all starting to look a bit better now over there, but there's a long way to go. They're now saying that there have been as many fatalities in this quake as there were with the tsunami!

I just thought I would add a quick post to say that I'm really proud of how the UK charity song for Hatti has done so well! There have been enough online sales to keep it at number 1 two weeks in a row! I think that's a pretty good achievement!

Has anyone heard any more about Hatti? I keep seeing the odd music video dedicated to raising money for it, but not half as many as there were a couple of weeks ago. Is there still findraising going on?

As far as I'm aware, there's still a lot going on. I think they now have managed to get a hold on things and everything's a bit more organised that before. Hopefully homes will start being rebuilt soon, but it's going to be ages before it's all back to normal.

Yeah, it's all still going on over there. It's easy to forget about though as we gone on with life normally. Just think, there are so many horrible things going on in the world right now and we just don't know it, or simply choose to ignore it. It's difficult to appreciate how priviledged we are without going to these places and seeing it all for ourselves. Even then, once we get back and settle into our usual routines, we find it easy to forget again.

Yes, it is very sad that we can forget these things so quickly. It's just human nature I guess. We all get caught up in our own things and before we know it we have moved on from the latest world disaster. At least we know there are people out there who are actively involved and doing their bit to help out. I am so greatful to all those people, because without them the world would be a much worse place.

I have noticed that there's not a lot in the news at the moment about Haiti. Hopefully the BBC or someone will give us a full update of the situation soon so we know what's going on.
