The internet has brought with it many new and innovative ways to communicate. Chatrooms, forums and social networking sites have all contributed to the sharing of information and an ever increasing social environment. For anyone with children this can be a cause for concern as it can be difficult to monitor all apsects of their online activity and to ensure their safety at all times. This is why we have teamed up with the child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP), who are tasked with safeguarding the online environment and protecting your child against possible danger. They work across the UK and cpombine police powers with the dedicated expertise of business sectors, government, specialist charities and other interested organisations – all focused on tackling child sex abuse.
At looklikefred we aim to encourage all members, both adults and children alike, to participate in the social aspect of this website and to be active in posting and sharing with the community. However, we understand the importance of being able to do so in complete confidence which is why your child's safety is one of our principal concerns. Through the inclusion of this governing body on the website you are offered a first level of protection against any suspicious activity and it is easy for you or you child to report potential abuse to the correct authorities with just a few clicks.
In addition to this, the ThinkYouKnow website, which is partner site to CEOP, has been developed as an educational resource and support centre which young people can visit to raise their awareness and promote a safer use of the internet. It includes internet saftey tips as well as somewhere for young people to make a complaint or report abuse. Please take a moment to browse the website and read the information found there to see what sort of potection this affords your child. You can do this by clicking on the link below or clicking the banner on the community chat page.
Your childs safety only is our greatest concern and one which we take very seriously so please take a minute to familiarise yourself with the links below to see exactly what support the CEOP can offer your child.
