Last Friday, 5th Janauary, the Countryman Gun Club gave out the 2009 awards for Clay Pigeon Shooting. The ceremony was held at the Countryman pub on Friday night where most of the club’s members turned up for the annual dinner. This year, the majority of awards went to the Adsett boys, Anthony and Jack. Anthony walked away with more awards than any other; a grand total of five. His younger brother, Jack, took away the award for winner of Class A. This usually goes to one of the older, more experienced shooters, but at just 18 Jack out-shot them all. His brother won Class B. Jack also won the award for Top Gun, meaning he hit the most clays of the season, with Anthony falling only one short of his brother.
This year, everyone is very excited to see what will happen next. Both brothers are keen to work hard and acheive as many awards as possible, Anthony vowing that this year he will will Class A and get the award for Top Gun. The competition between them will be intense. Congratulations to everyone that won an award for 2009 and good luck to everyone for 2010.
