LookLikeFred.co.uk is working together with local people and local business to bring about the most efficient relevant website to all people in this area.

Please Note: – LookLikeFred.co.uk will be officially launched on 4th May 2010 and is completely free to local subscribers.

Between now and then we will be beta testing the site and generating local interest in it. We will also be accepting our fist advertisers at reduced rates.

LookLikeFred.co.uk aims to provide a glossy, stylish take on all matters in the local area that local residents and business owners alike will enjoy. The key word to us is relevancy and the whole site is about making it relevant to our users.

The idea behind the site is to try and recapture the community spirit that was around in the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s. We all feel we have lost something in our community since the advent of technology. Yet technology is not the problem. The problem has been with the way we use it. It was with that in mind we designed LookLikeFred.co.uk

The site will include all info and chat on:- going out, staying in, gossip, current events, general discussions, comments and emails, plus more. The specific area covered is from Southwater to Findon, and from Billingshurst to Henfield, but will also have a catchment that extends to the towns and villages bordering those places.

The areas of interest the site is designed to cover should be of very high relevancy to our users. A LookLikeFred user will be either a local person, someone who works in the area, someone who attends school in the area, someone who previously lived in the area or someone wishing to visit the area.

We will provide local blogs and encourage prominent motivated people to post up news and latest events on their village/area. We will bring together the most relevant posts to everybody in the area by pulling posts from each blog onto the latest news. We are providing forums for everyone to keep in contact and discuss general and specific interest. We are providing a Classified add section that will allow all subscribers to post their items for sale for free until sold. We are providing a jobs section to allow all business subscribers and local residents a place to post all jobs in the area. Which of course can be either full time part time or voluntary jobs. And we are providing all of these listings for free to all subscribers.

We will provide a directory of all local businesses for free, we will be offering a variety of different advertising for local businesses and professional marketing help for local businesses subscribers.

The typical user will be local people from ages 12 to 90 with different areas of the site appealing to different ages. We will be encouraging users in because of access to the forums, commenting on the blogs, being kept informed of what’s going on in the week ahead, buying and selling their stuff for free, advertising and finding jobs for free, and being able to obtain discount vouchers from local merchants.

Our clients will visit LookLikeFred.co.uk an estimates seven times a month, on average, for tips on the latest discounts, special offers by merchants, info on local events, chat with friends, chat on areas of interest, to see what’s for sale, to see what jobs are on offer.

The whole idea is to be the one stop site for local info, ideas and inspirations which will always be delivered fast and in an upbeat way.
