While a lot of people think that passing a valid parking ticket to other people is a gesture of kindness and goodwill, authorities clarify that this is considered a fraudulent act. According to them, this is a breach of the terms and conditions considering that the ticket was used for a different vehicle to the one which it was originally purchased. When this was announced, the majority of people reacted aggressively with this issue because for them, they saw it as the person’s right and privilege to pass on a ticket if he/she has already paid for it. Results of surveys indicated that 79 percent of drivers said that they had passed tickets on to others. However, only 30 percent knew that it was a fraudulent act. But NCP firmly reminded the public that signs and display machines clearly state that all tickets are non-transferable and is only valid for the vehicle for which it is issued.
